Colombo City Centre – Sri Lanka’s First Integrated Lifestyle Destination

Set to open early next year, Colombo City Centre is rapidly taking shape as Sri Lanka’s first integrated lifestyle destination which consists of The Mall, The Residences and the country’s first NEXT Hotel®.

“Colombo has never seen anything like it,” said Anand Sundaram, CEO of Colombo City Centre. “We want to give the city a world-class experience deserving of its progression, and hope that our integrated offering brings a new dimension of urban lifestyle to Sri Lanka’s capital.” Starting from the 18 th floor, The Residences at Colombo City Centre will feature 192 luxurious and ultramodern units, each of which have been intelligently designed to offer panoramic views of the city, Beira Lake, and Indian Ocean. Over 60% of units have already been sold to several Sri
Lankan professionals living both locally and abroad, who chose from a selection of 2-bedroom apartments, 3-bedroom townhouse style residences and 4 or 5-room penthouses. Residents will also be able take advantage of exclusive facilities including a Sky Terrace on the 43 rd floor and a dedicated elevator to Sri Lanka’s first international shopping mall on the lower floors. On track to open in August 2018, The Mall at Colombo City Centre will house over 200,000 square feet of high-end retail across 5 floors. Well-known global brands such as Apple, Armani Exchange, Body Shop, Swarovski and more will be present alongside familiar local names including, but not limited to Abans, Colombo Jewellery Stores, ODEL and Spa Ceylon. In addition, Sri Lanka’s largest supermarket chain, Cargills Food City, will be opening a specialty gourmet outlet, while Food Studio is developing a 700-seat food court that specialises in cuisines from around the world. The top floor of The Mall will also be home to the country’s first 6-screen multiplex cinema, operated by Scope Cinemas. Finally, NEXT Hotel® will be adding Colombo to its international portfolio of destinations with 164 rooms, catering primarily to the business traveller. A subsidiary of Next Story Group, the hotel chain focuses on reimagining urban spaces with technology, and will feature extensive meeting and banquet facilities with multifunction rooms and the high-tech NEXT Lounge.

A highly anticipated addition to the capital’s fast-developing skyline, Colombo City Centre is Sri Lanka’s first BOI-approved mixed development project, slated for completion in early 2019. The USD 175 Million joint venture between local retail giant, Abans, and Singapore-based Next Story Group is one of Sri Lanka’s largest foreign direct investments in recent times, and
rises 47-storeys above the heart of the city. Honored as the ‘Most Promising Mixed Use Development’ by CMO Asia, ‘Asia’s Greatest Brand’ by AsiaOne Magazine and ‘Upcoming Mall of the Year’ among several other accolades by the Golden Globe Tigers, Colombo City Centre is a multi award-winning skyscraper and hopes to play a key role in transforming Sri Lanka’s capital
into a global metropolis.
